Yards is a football program management app. It holds a team's roster, depth chart, playbook, calendar, statistics, team feed and game film in one place, and it works on the phones coaches and players already carry. It is built for American football — both tackle and flag.

Coaching staffs running a real football program: head coaches, assistant coaches and coordinators, plus their players, stats crew and league organisers. It is designed for teams without a full-time operations person, so nothing depends on knowing spreadsheets or specialist software.

Yards is in closed beta with a small number of teams. It is a working product being used for real seasons, not a prototype, but access is limited while we build alongside those teams. You can request an invitation from the website.

Yes. The entire app is bilingual in English and Spanish, and each person chooses their own language — a coaching staff can work in Spanish while a player reads the same playbook in English. Voice narration of games understands both languages too.

Yes. Coaches can upload full game and practice film, or paste a link to video they already host on YouTube or Vimeo. Uploads resume on their own if the connection drops, which matters when you are sending a multi-gigabyte game from a field. Film is private to the team.

It is built for reviewing football rather than for watching entertainment. Skipping is the main control, in 5, 10 or 15 second steps that you choose and it remembers; double-tapping either side of the video skips by that amount, and holding the right side scans forward. Coaches can mark each snap so the whole team steps through a three-hour game play by play instead of dragging a scrubber.

Yes. While watching team film, a player can cut a moment into a highlight of up to 15 seconds and keep up to eight of them on their profile. They can name and replace them at any time, and coaches can remove one if it is not appropriate.

Yes. Video is scoped to the team that owns it, and hosted film is served through links that are signed and time-limited, so a URL copied out of the app stops working. Coaches can also mark film as coaches-only to keep scout tape and staff breakdowns away from players.

The parts that need to are built for it. A coach can prepare a game for offline before leaving, then narrate the whole thing at a field with no data — plays are stored on the device and sync when the connection returns. Practice tools and voice notes keep working offline too.

A coach or stats crew narrates the game out loud as it happens and the app turns that into a box score, so nobody is typing on a sideline. The coach reviews and corrects the result before it counts, and the app then writes a game report with MVPs and quarter-by-quarter summaries that the coach chooses whether to publish.

Yes. A league organiser gets a schedule, standings that update themselves, playoff brackets and a score approval flow where both coaches report and the league resolves any disagreement. Teams that are not in a formal league can instead run their own season, adding opponents and games directly.

No. The fastest way is sharing an invitation QR code or link — players scan it, create their own account and fill in their own details. Coaches can also add players individually or import a roster they already have in a file.
